Teeth grinding, also known as bruxism, is an involuntary reaction, typically to stress or anxiety. Most episodes of bruxism can go unnoticed during the night but may leave unpleasant side effects during the day. Due to the force applied to the teeth during these episodes, serious problems can be caused for the teeth and jaw. Symptoms of teeth grinding include:

-Damage or chipping of the teeth

-Pain and discomfort around the jaw

-Headaches

-Earache

-Disrupted sleep

To help reduce the impact of grinding, a mouth guard is recommended whilst you sleep. A custom-made mouthguard by a dentist can be very expensive, so it is often advised to try out a self-adjust dental guard where one size fits all. Our selection of these can be found below.
