There are 3 distinct elements that any denture wearers should consider:

Retention - Loose dentures can cause discomfort, soreness, impact speech and allow food particles to become trapped between the prosthesis and the gum, contributing to bad breath. The solution is to use denture adhesive strips or a denture bounding cream.

Cleaning Dentures - Dentures need to be cleaned daily in order to remove plaque and food debris. This can be done by rinsing the denture under running water while using a denture brush to remove all visible particles. The denture should then be soaked for at least ten minutes in an anti-bacterial solution.

Maintaining Healthy Gums - It is also important to take care of your gums by using a soft toothbrush to remove any food debris and to massage the gums to improve blood circulation. An alcohol-free mouthwash is also recommended. In addition to this, make sure you do not wear dentures overnight to allow time for your gums to rest.
